Ice Cream & Campfires

After a fun, but exhausting day at Peaks (with no nap) I decided it would be a day at home today.  After lunch in between cleaning & playing Braden and I attempted to make some homemade ice cream!  I used this recipe from Pinterest.
Crushing up the ice
Braden decided he wanted to go in the other room for this process
Adding the sugar
Two bags ready to go
Adding the salt
Time to shake it up!

Braden playing while I shake up the ice cream
Added some blueberries
Ready to eat!

I thought it tasted okay, but you could really taste the vanilla.  The other problem was that is was not very solid ice cream, and therefore melted very quickly.  I am going to check other recipes to see how they differ and possibly try a different one next time.

After nap & dinner we did a little handprint painting.  We made a little campfire and talked about possibly making a campfire at Paul's for the 4th!

I started by ripping up brown strips of paper for the logs
Waiting for the paint
Yellow paint all complete & ready for orange

Adding some orange paint

Completed campfire
