Week 2: "Transportation"

Transportation

January 10th - January 17th

This weeks theme will be transportation: cars, trucks, boats, trains, and airplanes.  But, could of course include other things: bikes, hot air balloons, a bus, etc.  

Crafts/Activities:

Design own city/map (for driving toy cars)

Transportation coloring

Tire painting

Airplane/Bus marble painting

Shredded paper stop light

Hot air balloon

Sensory/Discovery:

For the sensory bin I dumped a bag of black beans in a bucket and used yellow pipe cleaners to make it look like a road.  Then I put a few rocks off to the side and plastic trees. In the box I included things related to transportation - road signs, license plates, cars, trucks, bikes, boats, etc.  Something similar to this:

Threading beads

Dover Children's Museum - they have a room with a train table

Car mat & play dough time (using the city map we create)

Ice boats

Shaving cream car wash

Snacks:

graham cracker train

orange & grape cars

apple, cheese & pretzel boats

stoplight crackers

airplane pancakes

Alphabet:

This week we'll focus on "A" for Airplane, "C" for Car, "B" for Boat, Bike and "T" for Train and Truck
