Put Your Hands Together For Farm Animals

It looks like I picked a great week to do some Farm related crafts & activities!  First we went to story time this morning and all of the books & songs were about the farm and farm animals.  Also, Smiling Hills Farm opened up this weekend, so we can go visit!

We had a very busy morning - as I mentioned before we went to the Kennebunk story time.  Then we had lunch on the beach with friends (and it was cold/windy).  By the time we arrived home it was time for nap.  All of the fresh air made Braden tired, because I actually had to wake him up at 5:30.

After dinner we finally had some time to work on a few little projects.  First, I tried a bubble sensory/art project.  It involved mixing dish soap & paint to create a bubble mixture.  After blowing some bubbles you press the paper onto them to make a colored imprint.

Practicing with water first!
First I decided to have Braden practice with a little bowl full of water.  I was really worried that he would just end up drinking up the soapy, paint mixture.  Which he just ended up drinking up the water.  So, I made the bubbles for the craft project and Braden helped press the paper onto the mixture.

Afterwards we created a little handprint farm.  Braden loved telling me which colors to use next (thankfully I had only taken out the colors we would be using).
