Fireworks!

We have been very busy around here - it all started with Braden's birthday party and hasn't stopped since.  We have traveled a bit, I have had a few sewing projects and we've been enjoying time with our little friends & mommas.  I have a few posts from projects we completed during Braden's birthday week/Fourth of July and then we took a few weeks off.  Hoping to get back on track this week with "Bugs/Insects".

For Braden's birthday week I decided to do a "Happy Birthday" themed sensory box.  Complete with plenty of pom poms, a birthday book, horns, & candles.

He really enjoyed scooping the pom poms and finding the candles.  But, after I blew one of the horns he didn't want anything to do with the box.  He kept saying "all done, all done".

Later on we did a little painting craft to create some fireworks.  I used pipe cleaners to make a star shape, which we then dipped in red, white and blue paint.  Afterwards I added some glue and glitter to make them sparkle (shh don't tell Mike we had the glitter out).

I think next time I would create a separate stamper for each color.

Afterwards Braden had fun watching the Spot's Birthday DVD from the library.  We don't typically watch any TV, so I was surprised that he sat down and actually watched it.
