More Sea Creatures

To wrap up the Ocean/Beach week did some painting and color to create a few new sea creatures.

Using markers to color a jellyfish.

Painting an egg carton whale.

Braden had a little too much fun "painting"

Making Waves

The beach that we typically go to (Ferry Beach in Scarborough) does not have very big waves.  So this week to fit our Ocean/Beach theme we went to Pine Point where the waves are much stronger.  Braden has so much fun jumping in them.  So, I found a Pinterest craft that involved a water bottle and creating waves.  Unfortunately, the bottle we used was not really long enough to have a great wave effect.  But, Braden had fun with it anyway.

And then we did a little painting in the afternoon:

Beach Day

We couldn't have a ocean themed week without heading to the beach.  So after our visit with Mimi we headed back to Scarborough and Braden and I enjoyed a nice relaxing day at Pine Point Beach.

We splashed in the puddles (low tide), threw some rocks, played with trucks, buckets & shovels and even collected some seashells for a little art project.

Sea Creatures

After the Fourth of July trip and with summer being so busy, it took me a couple of weeks to get back into planning, organizing & executing "weekly themes".  I had finally had the opportunity to plan out a beach/ocean week and we were heading to Mimi's for most of the week.  So, I decided to try some things there.  Braden had other ideas!

On Monday I worked on putting together a couple of file folder shadow matching games and took them to be laminated on Tuesday.  I was a little disappointed in the prints that I used, because they were not very accurate (more so on the "bug" themed ones), but they were free!  I also found some sea creature decals at the dollar store, and Braden had fun with both of those.

However, he did not have any interest in painting projects while at Mimi's house.

Very little painting accomplished - would rather play with cars, tools, trucks, etc

Finished the Octopus painting at home in Scarborough!

Fourth of July Trip

On Thursday we spent most of the day at home and prepared for our trip & some Oslin family time.  Early afternoon on Friday (Braden's 2nd birthday) we packed up the car and headed to Poland.  Here are a few photos of the experience.
