Thanksgiving Fun

For Thanksgiving we went to Mimi's house, but we still had some learning fun!  Braden worked on coloring and shapes with a little turkey paper.

Mimi had some fun planned with a pin the hat on the turkey game.  Besides being blindfolded, Braden loved it.

Finally we had some fun with the letters that Braden already recognizes with a little turkey trot/jumping game.

All Kinds of Animals

Originally I planned to do some activities that included all different types of animals - zoo, farm and pets.  We accomplished a few of them at the beginning of the week, but that was it.

First we fed the monkeys some bananas with a banana drop game.

Then we did a little giraffe craft.

And Braden did very well with a new folder game - zoo animals vs farm animals and putting them in the correct environment.

Brush Those Teeth!

One activity that Braden loved to do over and over again was brushing the tooth.  I printed an outline of a tooth and put it inside a sheet protector.  Then I used a dry erase marker to draw plaque onto it.  Using a real tooth brush Braden would scrub the tooth until it was all clean.  He loved it and just wanted to play again and again!

Then we made a nice white, fluffy tooth with cotton balls!

And he wanted to continue with brushing the tooth!

Alphabet - Letter G & H

Today we did a little review of the alphabet letters A-G with Braden's newly finished felt alphabet quiet book!

Then we spent some time focused on letters G and H.

Toothpaste Time

This week I decided to do a little bit with dental health.  In October Braden accompanied me to my dentist appointment.  He was more comfortable than I thought he would be and by the end was walking up and down the hallways while I was getting my teeth cleaned.  They said next time we can try having him sit in the chair and getting used to opening up his mouth!  I am a little nervous, because I want him to have a positive experience!

We started the week with some shaving cream toothpaste painting.  Braden now does a great job of allowing us to brush his teeth, so I am hoping that will continue.

Then we worked on numbers and counting.  We started with the outline of a mouth with blank circles for teeth.  Braden would choose a number card and then count out that many marshmallows to represent teeth inside the paper mouth.  Once he realized the marshmallows were tasty it was harder to get him to count them out without eating them!
